2200 MH Refill Capacity

Does anyone have first-hand knowledge of the refill capacity for a 2008 Allison 2200MH transmission? My Freightliner owners manual says the refill capacity is both 13 AND 16 quarts ( on different pages) but the Allison Operator's manual says the refill is 10.6 quarts. Big difference.

!!THANKS!!

When we owned one we were always told the most accurate fluid level reading was gleaned through the keypad.

Allison info is 10.6 quarts with standard sump, plus external circuitry (cooling circuit hoses). That's been that way for years. Best to put in 10 or so and then start it up, check the fluid level and adjust to cold run on the dipstick.
Get it up to operating temp and make sure the level is in the hot run.

The 2200 cannot see the oil level with the keypad. That is only on the 3000/4000 series transmissions.

That sounds about right. It was the info in my Freightliner maintenance manual that was messing me up which said 13qts on one page and 16qts on another. The Allison manual, which I found somewhere online, said 10.6.

I have 3 gallons of TranSynd on standby, so I should probably be good.

Thanks!
