I run very close to JimTate
350 ISC stays right on 175 Deg. My Trans MH3000 stays 145-150. Radiator flushed, new coolant and thermostat and Transynd and filter change about 3000 miles

My issue is I struggle to get it warm enough so the key pad will check oil level. It appears that I have to get to 153 before it will check it before it cools to much during the 8 minute settling time. Analog gauge hardly wiggles. I'm checking with ScanGaugeD. Allison tells me there isn't a temp sensor in the cooling line.

Am I running to cold?

There's always discussion comparing transmission temperatures debating if 175 good, is 165 better, is 195 too high.
Unless you are above 250 in the sump, or above 300 at the to cooler port, you're fine.
Heat is the enemy. You really can't run an Allison too cool. Be thankful you struggle to get it to 153.

Thanks! I'm about to run it up to Alaska and see if that warms it up!

oooo nice trip. I am envious. Let us know how it does on the road. I'm curious too to see what temp it runs at sustained speed.

Last week ran 30 mi @ 62 MPH towing my Equinox and didn't get it warm enough to check oil level. Then got book out for ScanGaugeD for tranny temp!

I'm not sure what my Aladdin system is measuring, but for the past 4k miles since I got my coach, temp reading was around 200 the first road trip. Second road trip it seemed to run a little hotter 200-220. Now, I came out to Nashville from DFW and the drive out it was 210-230, but would come down below 200 at a rest stop.

I just went across town to get some new tires and was caught in some serious stop and go (more stop) for about 1 hour. It got up to 230 for a good part of that drive. Then, parking in the driveway took about 10 mins of back and forth and when I got done it was reading 245.

While it was in the 230's - I stopped for fuel. I put it in N and high idle, but this didn't seem to lower it like I would have expected (maybe got down to 228 after 10 mins).

I think I may have a problem? Anything I can check out myself?

On a recent 1600 mile trip, my ISL 400 stayed around 200 to 204. Got up to 213 on US 441 north out of Franklin, NC. Transmission typically around the same as the engine. Did come up to 209-210 coming up the mountain.

You are well within the temp limits for the transmission.

On flat ground my tranny runs about 20 degrees cooler than the ISC, which normally runs about 178-182.

I'd say your heat exchanger (radiator, intercooler and hydraulic oil cooler) stack either needs to be cleaned or you trans heat exchanger needs serviced.

Hello Bill,I just finished changing my coolant over to Peak Final Charge yesterday. Today I took it for a 30 mile test run and coolant temp stayed around 179 but the tranny stayed around 186. I too thought before the Allison stayed about 10 degrees below the water temp. I was wondering what have you determined on yours? I have the ISC 350 with Allison 3000, side radiator.

Even in 90 degree temps I rarely see transmission temps above 160-170. When I stop it is a race to use the electronic level test before the transmission temps go below the necessary 144 degrees or so. My coolant temps are at the thermostat temp of 187 degrees except on big climbs where it goes up to about 200 degrees or so.
