Now that I have your attention Tom, can I then ask you this: Will the test show me if my transmission fluid is good to go for a while yet, or is this just a result that will tell me "pass" or "fail"? The fluid being maybe 7 years old, am I better off by just biting the bullet and change the fluid regardless of a test result?

Thanks.
I found the fluid analysis from JG to be very educational. One thing I would suggest is filling in as much data as possible on the form when you submit your sample. They have all those blanks on the form for a reason!! Within 48 hours of JG receiving my samples I had the results in my email. Some of the results I didn't understand so I called the number from the web page and Tom answered my call. Even though he was out of town and had not been to the shop in several days he was very aware of my test results and answered all my questions on the first phone call. This was very impressive to me because Tom was driving down the highway when he took my call and had to answer my questions from memory. With service and attention to detail like that, I will be a repeat customer

I am having trouble finding a vendor that sells Transyd. I live in a rural part of Northern California, and the few truck repair stations state they only have bulk fluid. Does anyone have info. on a west coast vendor?
There's a good chance you can qualify for free shipping from this source. Their prices seemed reasonable to me. Anyone else have an opinion about their prices?

Today my friend William Willard showed me how to change the 2 transmission filters on my MH3000 Allison transmission.

As it turned out, the work was not difficult, and I will be comfortable doing this some other time if needed. Most difficult and time consuming part was to scrape the old gaskets off, and that takes no brains - just elbow grease

The filter change allowed 1.5 gallon of Transynd to escape, so we drove to the Allison dealer W. W. Williams in Phoenix and bought 2 gallons. Great price - just short of $75 all inclusive for the 2.

Again - thanks to Bill for yet another RV tutorial.
