My 3000 runs right at 179 in normal summer driving but climbs to 185-190 in hilly terrain. I've seen it reach 210 in hot weather and continuous long hills. That's on a 37,000 lb coach with ISL engine.

I might see 160° on a normal day on the flats. 32,000# towing a Honda Odyssey (#4,500#'s+) Never see much above 180° since I changed to TranSynd several years ago. Hardly ever stays hot enough to use the pad level indicator.

Here's a round up of conditions just for comparison with my m4000/TranSynd, Cummins ISM, 47,000lbs plus towing 4 down.

Generally at 80F-90F outside, trans around 175F-185F
125F outside through Death Valley summer with some pretty good hills, trans hovered around 195F - I was surprised that low.
All out worst hill climb slog Tioga Pass, Yosemite 85F outside, trans 190F
0f to sub0F outside, CO mountains (even Wolf, Eisenhower, Freemont, Vail) trans barely hits 120F that's practically hot tub territory!
Highest trans temps were some short spikes of 200-205F probably in between fan cycles.

Trans temp depends on a variety of conditions, but the ranges expressed in the prior posts for your m3000 all sound good!
