4000 series transmission

Are there any known issues with the 4000 series transmission and the X15 cummins engine? Shifting issues for hills up and down and or can you keep it in drive and go?

Normally with a well performing powertrain you can just keep it in drive. There are conditions you may want to preselect in. If your vehicle has an Allison Operators Manual in it, it explains the selector operation pretty well. Preselecting doesn't hurt the transmission.

There have been problems with the ISX, mostly the 650 HP version. Do a search for that engine. The Allison is bullet proof.
