I have a 2004 Pace Arrow motorhome with a 1000 Allison manufactured in 2003. While have a solenoid replaced at the Allison service center the mechanic found pieces of metal in the pan magnet. He stated it was probably from a particular bearing which has created a problem for many 2003 1000 series. He also stated that they have resolved the problem with a better bearing. When they removed and broke down the transmission they found the bad bearing. Has anyone else had bearing problems with the 2003 1000? Thank you.

Allison has had numerous problems with the t-5 thrust bearing failing. There is an updated bearing for repair if it hasn't already wiped out the p-2 carrier.Really suprised the was no recall on this but allison corp is not what they used to be after the sell off.

Hey Allisontec, great having you join the forum. Hope you don't get tired of answereing all the questions. You may need to change your fluid more often . Again, welcome

Following up on your previous statement I would be interested in knowing who bought Allison/

Allison was bought by The Carlyle Group a few years ago and believe me the purse strings have really tightened. I work for a distributer and we have to walk a fine line.
