Allison 1000 Error

Hi All,

We have a 2004 Winnebago with a Workhorse W22 + Allison 1000.

I have a transmission error light showing on the dash when you restart the engine while the trans is at temp 145f ish (Scanguage II) (for example when getting gas)

Since getting the error the 1st time I have replaced the spin on filter and the internal filter. About 10 qts came out, but I've put in 13 to get it near the hot mark.

I have gotten the error since 'servicing' the trans.
No check engine lights or code ( that I can read )

Any ideas ??

Thanks as always.

Is the Scanguage capable of reading the error code?

It can only read the check engine light codes ( from what I see ) and there are no codes showing up.

You replaced the internal filter? I've never heard of that unless the transmission is being torn down for repair.

What fluid did you use?

The 2004 came with Dexron iii and needed to be changed every two years and at 25,000 mile intervals.

I replaced mine three times over the years and then switched to Transynd last year.

How many miles are on your coach?
