Allison 1000 with 4 speed shift lever?

Allison 1000 in a DP and the shift lever only has R N OD D 2 1.


why can't I select 3rd or 4th manually?


am I missing something?

I'm curious what year make and model DP you have?

I didn't know they used the Allison 1000 in diesel pushers.

2000 forest River reflection, they only made this model for a few years, on a Spartan chassis Simmit 2000, isb 5.9

It's a smaller one only 33 ft. 19000 lbs dry

That is one of the shift patterns available. In another thread, I listed the others.
There aren't enough passages in the valve body to preselect each gear. Each available shift pattern is a choice of which ones to select.
The available shift patterns are:
D-4-2-1, D-4-3-1 and D-3-2-1.
What you likely have is OD is 5. It's a five speed single overdrive. D is 4, 1:1 in the trans and then 2-1. So in Allison terms, you probably have the D-4-2-1.
