Just bought a new Pheaton 2010, 40QTH, Allison 3000mh 6 speed tranny. While driving down the hiway I have turned on the mode indicator and red light is illuminated, but I do not see the word "economy" in the little window above the mode indicator. Should I read the word "economy" in the window?

The red light is the only thing I see when I push the mode button on my 3000.

No. The window will only indicate what gear the transmission is running in. The red light ON indicates you have selected the economy mode.

Mine is the same way and I had wondered the same thing since I think the manual leads one to believe it should. I've just come to assume that it is working as designed and that the manual is misleading.
