The TPS, is attached to the throttle pedal, and supplies a voltage signal to the engine / trans control modules. If , as Mike has stated, you have pluged fuel ,or air filters, then the throttle possision does not corolate with the engine RPM required for the up-shift, the trans controler will hold the trans in 5th gear. You should how-ever be able to force an up-shift, to 6th at any speed above 60mph by fully releasing the throttle, on level road, then easing back on the throttle to hold 6th after the shift. If an up-shift won't happen after releasing the throttle, and the coach holds 5th and slows down, a complete check of the trans operation is in order.
