Allison Transynd
UPS delivered 4 gallons of Transynd and a filter today. If you're looking for Transynd their price is $42.90/gallon and $9.99 for the spin on filter. Add shipping and maybe taxes, best price I could find. Ordered on Monday, arrived today. So I guess they're located in MI since I had to pay sales tax.

Has anyone had experience with Amsoil Torque-Drive Synthetic ATF? It's a little cheaper, and Amsoil makes good stuff. They claim it is equal to the Transynd ATF, including Allison's warranty. Just wondering.
Happy Glamping.

Not on Allison’s approved list. If you use an approved TES295 fluid then you can top up with any other approved TES295 fluid and be sure of what you have.

I found Transynd to be cheapest in 5 gallon pails at my local Freightliner dealer. I would not recommend using anything else in an Allison. The few bucks you save now may cost you much more down the road. For the one time that you will likely change it during the time you have your RV is it worth the potential risk?

TES295 is the only approved synthetic oil for an Allison. Why cheap out on a few bucks; to be safe I only use Transynd. That's what was shipped in the transmission from the factory.

Well I claim that my trans fluid is better than Transynd and Amsoil Torque-Drive. I offer the same proof Amsoil does, none. Read their marketing, sounds like it was written by a politician. Amsoil claims it's too hard and expensive to test their ATF against the Allison spec? There's a half dozen other companies that managed to have theirs tested. Just saying, I think Amsoil is mostly hype, great marketing but mostly hype.

Transynd it is then. Was just asking. I'm only at 50+ K, so lots of time yet before a change.
Anyone watch the temp on their 1000 6 speed Allison? Mine runs at 175 F, and will climb to 210 F on a hard pull. Sound normal?

Freightliner NW quoted $42.90/gal to me recently, they stock it and available for pickup.

A friend of mine has a 2001 Monaco Dynasty w/tag with the Allison 4000 series trans and he is using the Shell Spirax Synthetic transmission oil instead of the Transynd. So far so good, Been over a year of travels and use. This is what he is using

I was not aware UPS sold Transyd Fluid. Learn something new everyday on IRV2.
