Automatic downshifting problems

2013 Itasca Meridian 34B 340 Cummings Allison MH2500. Have Intermittent trouble downshifting climbing a grade or trying to pass. Sometimes unable to down shift unless down arrow is pushed many times. Will go into limp mode after making a manual downshift and then pushing the up arrow to 6 then stop at a stop sign. Replaced all 3 speed sensors and no change. Key pad will not read out trouble codes nor does the mode function work.
Has anybody had this problem?

Welcome to the forum.

Have you tried to contact Allison for assistance? You could have a bad control module in the transmission. Mine was replaced under the Allison warranty for a starting problem I was having.

I've been to Allison twice. They replaced the 3 speed sensors saying that was the cause. Went back the second time and they said it could be in the controller but since it was a Freightliner controller, they couldn't test it. Contacted the Allison regional rep. and the maker of the controller, Arens, for assistance. Now I'm just waiting to see what they are going to do.

Thanks Ed

Bummer. Gets expensive. Hope someone gives you a good answer soon. Are you in traveling range of the Freightliner Custom Chassis factory service center in Gaffney, SC? They have a good reputation.
