Can Bus & J1939 ISB to Allison 2500MH

Is it a fair assumption that Cummins ISB CR ECU communicates with with the Allison 2500MH via the Can Bus and J1939 interface?

Yes. You should see a round 9-pin diagnostic connector in the vehicle. That's the one used in J1939 applications.
Another giveaway is if you do not have a mechanical throttle sensor for the Allison. If your vehicle has the mechanical TPS, it's very likely not J1939 or J1850 equipped.
