When the outside temp is below 30f and my 05 3060 has sit overnite, the shift into first has a 2 second delay and then hard shifts into gear. Reverse is fine. This is after a two-three minute warm up. After warm up it shifts fine. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks

Hello guys, welcome to the irv2com community! First visit: Allison Transmission FAQ page, click on "publications" in the left menu, then download the proper service manual for your transmission. Could it be that your transmission(s) have sat for an extended time and the oil has drained out of the torque converter? Try shifting into each gear during your warm-up period to help re-fill the torque converter. Allison does have a fix for that condition I think.

Is it possible when a main seal between the tranny and cat engine was replaced (was told it doesn't come new with one) contamination entered the tranny. Cat used silicon tube gasket material for repair under warranty. Is this an open area for tranny fluid or closed(my thinking)between the two at connection point?

Mine used to shift hard when cold, till I put the TransSyn in. It shift smoother and does not get too hot also.

Also I would change the fluid and filters and pay careful attention to what comes out. Drive around a bit before you drain the fluid.
