I have a hard time getting the TranSynd hot enough to test with the electronics. Even getting off the freeway and doing it immediately gets me an oil too cold code. The fluid doesn't get very hot and cools off too soon. By the time the countdown is done it's too cold.

unless the a mad midnight oil doner has been hard at work, it was never 4 gallons overfilled.

The trans is a sealed system, unless it is leaving puddles or vast clouds of white smoke, it is not going to get low. It ain't never gonna git high.

At this point, the guy who suggested a drain and refill with exactly the specified amount of transynd has told the only real solution.

Let me ask if your engine coolant temps are coming up to the standard 179-182* degree range? I believe that most of these transmissions have a internal radiator within the main radiator. This not only cools the transmission fluid but also heats it up to normal operating temperature. On a level road in normal temperatures (not extreme above 100* ambient) my transmission fluid is running within a few degrees of my engine coolant temperatures right around 180* plus or minus a couple. I monitor both these temps on my Aladdin system. If your engine thermostat was stuck open and your engine running too cool then the transmission fluid will not heat up.

JimM68, I agree with what you are saying but it could have been overfilled or underfilled during servicing or could be filling up with engine coolant from a leak in the transmission cooler inside the radiator.

I saw a post on an earlier thread that said with the engine at idle and the parking brake set, put the transmission in reverse for about 2 to 3 minutes and it will warm up enough to check the level.

I haven't tried it, so I can't say if it does or does not work.

There is no way it will warm up to 140* in 2-3 minutes. Maybe 20-30 minutes unless it is 110* outside.
