Filter brand - Fleetguard or Donaldson?
next month would be the completion of 4 years since my last transynd change over. i made a note at the time saying 150kmi or 4 years whichever comes first (somebody said 5 years?). the filter is a 2" filter kit, p/n 29548987.
two brands catch my eyes - fleetguard and donaldson. price-wise donaldson is about $10 cheaper than fleetguard. does anyone know which one has a better quality than the other?
(i'd pass fram, baldwin, hastings, and lumberfiner. this doesn't mean they are not as good; just not familiar with them or don't feel comfortable with them).

My input is neither. I'd stick with the genuine Allison filter. I've seen too many non-Allison filters sucked up against the control module and collapsed, or restricted flow due to inferior dirt carrying capacity.

I concur. These Allison's seem to be bulletproof when properly maintained. The 2 filter kit has all the correct O rings & gaskets and torque values for the filter cover bolts and drain plug. The kit should be under $50 at an Allison dealer.

I agree. Allison never conducted any field tests on any aftermarket filters. Allison spent tons of money and engineering resources developing the "High Capacity Filters".

Yup. For Cummins engine in SEA, some of the part numbers like lf670,lf777, ff105, and water filters all from china.

Be sure your magnetic washer is included in the kit.

There should have been one on the old filter. Did you re-use it...or did it get lost ?

The magnet is on the spin on filter used on the 1K/2K series only. The Allison high capacity filters used in the 3K/4K transmission control modules do not have any magnetic washers.
