First gear slipping to neutral on takeoff
Our 2004 Country Coach has an erratic transmission issue. Occasionally it will act like the transmission slips into neutral when coming off a stop and making a low-speed turn. When this happens the "6" flashes. Sometimes I have been successful in quickly pushing "n" and then back to "D" and things re-engage...at least for while. A code 3500 registered, which indicates a power interruption issue. The ground has been checked good by an Allison service center, and the contacts all cleaned.
Is there anything else that could be causing such behavior? We will be leaving for a 2-month trip and obviously need to have the problem resolved.
Thanks for any thoughts.

Get to the shop ASAP. Has the fluid and filters ever been changed?

First gear slipping to neutral on takeoff
Hi,
A flashing Display refers to a shift inhibit which restricts certain range applications. The most common are:
1.Auxiliary function range inhibit:
Basically you need your foot on the brake to engage a range, otherwise the selector will flash and you will stay in Neutral
2.Engine speed to high:
If you try to put the transmission into gear over about 900 RPM the display will flash and you cant engage a range.
This being said it doesn't sound like your particular issue as it seems as though you are moving when it happens, however an Allison dealer should be able to see any historic shift inhibits using Allison DOC.
Code 3500 should bring on the transmission light. It shouldn't shift you to neutral but would restrict any shifts up or down. It may be difficult to diagnose intermittent wiring issues as they hardly ever reappear when someone has a laptop on it.
If it was happening on a regular basis you could try a ECU, if your local Allison dealer had a loan unit, and try to replicate the fault.

Check the fluid level it sounds like it might be low.

Did you ever solve this issue? My rv is doing the same exact thing. How did you correct the problem? Thanks for any help. First time on this forum.
