Hello again..... I am planning to change the filters and fluid in my MD3060
Can anyone tell me if it's OK or recommended to swap out the standard fluid for the transynd. It is a 1998 model HR Imperial 40 ft 325 turbo/ Allison MD 3060. I know it has 2 filters, what I don't know is the size and number of the filters but pretty sure I can find them... What is the fluid capacity of the MD3060?
Thanks
Roy

Yes, suggest you change over to Transynd. But your next service will still need to be per the Dexron schedule. Then you can go by the Transynd service interval.

Filters are located in oil pan, accessed by removing 2 round covers on bottom of pan. Filters will come out with the covers.

2 oil pan depth options. The 2" pan take the 4" filters and the 4" pan depth take the 6" filters and you can get the filter kit from Allison. More than likely it will be the 4" pan and will take approx. 19 quarts of fluid to change out.

I'll try to send you the Allison 1099B service info if you email me with your email info.

I have a 1998 HR Endeavor - Cummins 5.9L - Allison MD3060 - and had the fluid changed from Dexron to TranSynd. My transmission has a 2" sump and only took about 4 gallons of fluid.

As the Imperial is a 'higher grade' MH that the Endeavor, you may have the 4" sump which would take closer to 5 gallons of fluid.

I bought my TranSynd on eBay for $120 shipped (5 gallon) which seems to be a very good price. Have had quotes of $35 - $60 per gallon...makes my $24/gal seem like a real deal.
