FYI on Allison trouble Code P0847

After a 1700 mile trip, pulled into the driveway and saw a check engine banner on the dash. Checked the code using the touch pad, it showed everything was in good health but showed an active P0847 code. Freightliner stated it was a pressure switch inside the transmission.

Allison found that the pressure sensor was stuck and needed to be replaced. $1700.00, all covered by warranty Allison, and ten days later, all is good again.

Just wanted to post for anyone who has the same code pop up. It's a 4000m in a Freightliner with the 450Isl only 8500 miles old.

I thought the 3000 was used with the 450 ISL. Is this a current change?

I believed it was a 3000 also, all the literature states a 3000, however the serial number and model on the transmission shows that it is a 4000 per Allison.

Wonder why the change. Operationally there is no difference between the two. The gear ratios are very close but the 4000 weighs about 400 pounds more and holds ten gal of fluid. The 450 ISL is right at the top of the 3000s capacity but that has always been the drive train of choice.
