I am curious how long the engine has to run, before the sensor in the sump allows for a digital fluid reading...I have warmed the engine to operating temp by driving around the neighborhood(15 mins) and still get the oL-70 code, I don't want to go too far until I know I have proper amount of fluid though and my dipstick is terrible.

You have to get that torque converter to unlock to warm it up without driving very long. It will warm up faster if you set the brake and put the transmission in gear and bump the idle up to about 800 rpm.

I believe you need to get the trans temp to a min of 160 in order to obtain a valid reading.

We made the switch to Transynd last fall on about a 40 degree day. I drove over 20 miles at highway speeds and never did get it warm enough to get a reading. I was pretty confident that I replaced the same amount I drained so I didn't worry about it until we were in a much warmer climate and then everything checked OK.

When the outside temperature is about 70 degrees I have to drive 12-15 miles at normal highway speed to get the transmission warm enough to read the fluid level. When I drive in 40 degree weather it takes at least 20 miles to warm up enough.

Thanks for the reply's, I wound up driving the highway for 30 mins and the temp got to where I could get a reading...I was only short two litres, so no big deal, now I know for the next time thanks.

I have TransSyd in my 3060. I drove 20 miles today, air temp 65 degrees, according to VMSpc transmission oil temp was 128 degrees. It took 13 minutes in Drive at 1000 rpm to raise the transmission temp to 152 degrees so I could take an electronic fluid level reading. The transmission needs to see at least 140-144 degrees to take an electronic reading.
