You read out for low should be

ol-lo-o1 for one quart low

The code your reporting comes up as neutral must be selected.
Unless you just changed trans oil and added the wrong amount you shouldn't be 6 quarts low. Coach would not move.
Is this the pdf that your reading the codes out of?

i redid just now. after selecting N and applying parking brake, waited for 2 minutes, pressed/held up and down simultaneously, well, it didn't count down, but instantly showed olok. is this right?

I re-read the file, and it is not clear on when the count down begins;
As soon as neutral is selected ? Or after the two push buttons are depressed?
You could try again and push the two buttons ( up/down arrows) right after the neutral and see if you get the two min delay before the read out.
JMHO: Your oil level is fine.

OK, found the reason , in the overall users manual for the 3000/4000 series Allison transmissions.
The countdown began as soon as you shifted to neutral, so when you hit the up/down arrows the trans was ready to provide the info, the two min countdown was already over.
This file is too big to post here in the forums. I picked it up from the Allison site. If you can't find the file on their web site, and would like a copy; PM me your e mail address and I'll forward it to you. It's a 128 page document.
