Thanks Steve and Gary. Glad to know there is an adaptive programming in place. During the test driving, when the seller was behind the wheel I noticed the jerking. When switcheroo'ed, I noticed more. Gary made a lot of sense here, maybe my footing was heavier (had been driving MB diesels got used to a heavier one). Tires were changed two years ago as I was told. Treads did look like close to full. I'll ask about Transynd fluid thing, afriaid he might say he doesn't know. Another thing, he said he changed engine oil in the interval of no more than 5kmi, was that sounded right?
Your advices are taken, I'll get more on the service details and have Allison and Cummins dealers do presale checkups. It's a small premium but definitely worth the penny to fend off potential holes in the pocket.
Cheers!

Never found either one of them in my travels however they both post here so ..... perhaps they will feel their eyes burning and check in.
I was reading where someone said the Allison is temp senistive.
I know it's tested in enviorments from High Noon, in Arizona in August to Nome Alaska in February (Well -40 degrees, your pick of C or F)
In fact.. I know one of the engineers who built one of the cold rooms (This one is used to test parts)
This, of course, does not mean the electronics can't be temp senistive as he tests only the transmission itself.
But in the big room (the one he did not build) they park a Semi on a dyno and let it sit at -40 for a day or two, then fire it up and test.

Since RVing is new to me, is R/R transmission filter DIYable? I have done all maintenances on my cars, rarely went to shops/dealers, not sure if Allison is too complex or underneath of rig is roomy enough...

Just so you know
The slower soft shifting wears the clutch plates more than the quick shifts. and the lower RPM shifting should help with MPG.

Drop the filters and check the dates stamped on them if they are Allison filters. That should help in when OR if it was ever serviced.

Also, get an Allison tech that has Allison Doc's on a lap top and he can ride with you on a test drive and record all the systems in the trans. Takes all the quess work out of it. He can actually manually shift the trans with the lap top.

If any doubt at all, get it to an Allison shop for a check-out as a pre-condition of the sale.

What Gary said. Make it a condition of sale that a qualified Allison shop services the tranny (oil + filters using TranSynd) and have them give it an overall health check.

I drove one MH that the guy said he had tranny problems. He had an exhaust brake and it was turned on but frozen up but was still supplying a signal to the tranny for a different shift schedule.
