"Keypad" fluid level check

Transmission temp. guage goes to 140 deg. and stops. Only a couple of times in the mountains has it ever gone higher. That would normally be considered a good thing EXCEPT when checking the fluid level with the keypad, I normally get the 7,0 code (tran fluid not warm enough)
Is this temp normal?

Set brake, put foot on brake put the Trans in reveres, and raise RPM's to about 1,00 to increase Trans temp.
