Sorry guys but I'm leaving the iRV2 forum as of tonight. I really enjoyed your questions and hopefully gave you some good scientifically based answers and some in depth understanding of Allison transmissions, fluid specifications and fluid recommendations for your Allison 1000 through 4000 Series products.
Only oil analysis can truly tell when an engine oil or transmission fluid needs to be changed.

Tom, would you reconsider staying? Your input is needed so much on this forum. If not, thank you for your contributions.

I was glad to see when you joined the forum that we had a resident expert on the Allison transmission who could separate fact from fiction and steer us straight when questions came up. Your contributions to the forum have been appreciated, and I too would hope you would reconsider.

It was so wonderful when you decided to join. I please, please, please hope you will reconsider your decision for leaving. These forums are just what they are. As well as being a learning experience who those who read them, there is a learning curve for those that post on them. Take it as a lesson learned, move on and reconsider.

Tom,
Like previous posters, I have enjoyed and appreciated your willingness to apply your specific knowledge and expertise to the questions and sometimes misinformation posted here.
Like others, I would like for you to stay, but I would also like to offer up another option. Would you consider stating up a Allison specific forum either on a platform such as the Yahoo forums or independently. Roger Burke did this with his AquaHot forum and it's a wonderful asset for owners needing help.
What ever you decide, I thank you for the help and I will be a customer of your lab. Thanks to you I will not just routinely change out my fluid at fixed intervals but looking at the condition instead.

So, we can't PM another member unless we are invited to?

Feel free to PM anybody you like as long as the content of the PM conforms to our community rules. We make no distinction between a PM and a post as far as our rules are concerned.

Who monitors private messages? I guess they are not private? or did someone get offended and report a private message did not conform to the forum rules?
Just very sad that someone apparently has to run off a world class expert. I hope whoever it was can feel real good about following the rules to a T

PM's are indeed private unless the recipient Reports it to the staff as being offensive, commercial solicitation, or whatever. In that case the forum staff will make a judgment. We have had reports of some people soliciting business via pm and some other rules violations too. As always, the staff is just looking out for the members and enforcing the site rules.
