Have a 2005 Winni Class A, Workhorse W-22, 8.1L gas, Allison 5 spd trans.
Unit has been parked for a few weeks. Started it up this morning, went to put it in gear and the shift lever wouldn't budge. Stepping on brake, rocking steering wheel back and forth but still couldn't move shift lever.
Any ideas??

Is the rig parked on an incline? If so, you may have to try a little harder or push/pull the rig up the incline a few inches before shifting. If on flat ground, check to see if your brake lights are on when you press the pedal. If the brake light fuse is blown it may not allow you to shift.

Lift the front wheels off the ground with your jacks. This will remove the pressure on the mechanical steering lock. Do NOT lift the rear wheels off the ground as your parking brake is located on the drive shaft.

Also had that happen. With the engine off turn the key to on (not start) with foot on brake shift the lever to neutral . You can then start the engine and drop it into drive. By the way this has happened to me twice in 3 yrs.
