MD 3060 oil level check

I have a 1994 manufactured Allison MD 3060.

I have tried checking the oil level using my shift panel but get no OL response.

1. The rig was level.
2. Allison fluid temp was 180 degrees
3. The rig had been in Neutral for more than 2 minutes.
4. The engine was idling.

The dipstick showed full at hot.

Pressing the up and down arrows simultaneously only returned "d 1" which is the start of the diagnostic test.

Pressing the up and down arrows twice returned me to N N display.

This is a World Transmission.

Did some of these transmission come without the oil level at the shift pad feature?

That's an excellent question and I would call any Regional Allison Service Center and I'm sure they should be able to help you figure this out.

I called the Allison Tech line. Frank answered and was very pleasant and professional in telling me that my Allison and many others shipped without the shift pad feature.

He guessed that most Allisons installed after 1999 would have the option installed.
