Wagonmaster, I don't know a lot about diesel pushers but I am learning fast. My Beaver is a 1993, it has a cummins 8.3 6cta with 300 hp and an allison MD3060 six speed. My ECU (Electronic Control Module) is under the keypad to shift the transmission. It is actually one piece but can be taken apart to service the keypad or ECU. My unit is a WTEC II (World Transmission Electronic Control II). I have a small console to the left of my left leg when sitting in the drivers seat. It was in that console and pretty easy to remove. The ECU controls the transmission and powers the keypad. If your keypad does not light up, that is shows Neutral when the ignition key is turned on the ECU has a power problem and you need to call John at Transmission Instruments. I don't know what a TCU is but I suspect it is the same thing. Either way call John to see if he can service it. My ECU had two plugs that had to be removed. YOU MUST UNHOOK THE POSITIVE SIDE OF THE BATTERY TERMINAL BEFORE YOU TRY TO REMOVE THE ECU OR TCU.
Good luck with your project. I am very happy with how my unit was serviced. I just put 1300 miles on my coach without a problem. Bob F.

ALWAYS disconnect the NEGATIVE battery terminal FIRST. when you are done with your work, reconnect the NEGATIVE terminal LAST.
this procedure is for SAFETY and to keep the possibility of electrical short circuits, ect. to a minimum.
