MH2000 Scan Gauge temp. reading

I have a 01-02 Allison MH2000 5 speed. I purchased a Scan Gauge II in early 2012. According to a former Allison tech the MH2000 has a temperature sending unit. As purchased the Scan Gauge unit would not read the temp. I sent it in for a upgrade in August 2012. After receiving still didn't read temp.

Is anyone with a MH2000 5 speed getting transmission temperature reading on the Scan Gauge and if so what version of software update do you have?

You have to program the X-Guage function.

Allison Trans Fluid Temperature (Degrees Fahrenheit)

TXD 6C18F1221940(01)
RXF 046205190640
RXD 3008
MTH 00090005FFD8
NAME TFT

Note: Sometimes the value 01 needs to be added to the end of a TXD to get the XGauge to work.

Tom: Thanks for the come back.

Did these codes work for a MH 1000, 5 speed or a MH 2000, 5 speed?

That's great news Tom. I will try to program it tomorrow.

Did you have to add the 01 at the end of the TXD?

I wish I could report good news but after trying the codes for Allison 5 speed I got no transmission temp. reading. After reading previous Scan Gage reports it seems that success was on the 5 speed gas powered MH.

Is anyone out there with a diesel MH2000, 5 speed Allison that has programmed the Scan Gage for trans. temp.?

Tom: Thanks for the help.

I apologize. I went back and looked at my specs. I now see I have the Allison MH2100. This transmission is also used in some lower powered diesels.

Charles: Perhaps a call to LL will get the correct codes for your tranny. Ed

I've tried that root upgrading then sending all info to their software engineer and have no luck yet. The MH 2000, 5 speed is not as popular as the 1000 or the 3000 6 speed.

Thanks for the response.

Dave:
Thanks for the come back. I have worked with the software dept. at SG. After our next trip I try sending it back for the latest upgrade and see how that works.

Any other MH2000 that read the Scan Gage transmission temperature?
