Thanks for the clarification. However, it does not appear to be correct. My Allison manual shows a diagram with the dipstick inside the fill tube. It doesn’t show a second tube with a dipstick entering the tranny.

I purchased a magnetic extension grabber tool and will see if dipstick is in there when I go to the storage yard this week.

Turns out you guys are right. I was looking at the diagram for the Allison 4000 and mine is the 3000. I pulled the engine cover in the bedroom and there was the tranny dipstick. Thanks for your help.
