My dipstick hole plug is leaking. It is the hole opposite side of the tranny where the dipstick is. The one in there that is leaking has a bolt on top. When I bought a replacement they gave me a plastic plug that has a rubber sleeve. I called Allison and they said that is the right plug, but did not tell me how to install it.

Do I just put the rubber on and hammer the plug in?? Or should I put some tranny fluid between the plug and the rubber to help it in???

Has anyone put this in. Can you give me info how you did it? The rubber is thin and looks like it will slip inside the tranny or tear while I put the plug in.
