I have a 1991 Class A Safari with a diesel and a 5-speed automatic Allison transmission. I hear a sceeching/whining sound at the top end of each gear. The sound is something like a loose fanbelt, except the sound is different than rubber on metal. The transmission fluid is always at full and appears very clean. Any ideas?

Does anyone have a recommendation on an Allison mechanic in the Seattle area?

Thanks,

Hello Dennis, welcome to irv2.com!
I assume you have the Allison 1000 RV transmission, perhaps not. Either way, open that hyperlink, click on publications in the left menu, then open the service manual for your transmission.
I haven't a clue about WA Allison shops.

I would take it to Brazels, they are in Centralia, just a little south of you. They are probably one of the best service centers and a sponsor of this board.
