Howdy,
New to Forum so if I mess this up don't blast me...
I Have a 2004 Fleetwood Discovery 39S with C7 Cat. 65,000 miles recent Transynd full service about 10k ago by Allison Dealer. Trans has always shifted fine UNTIL: Had engine problems bad injector stuck wide open and caused 3 cracked heads and blown head gaskets Cat repaired engine under warranty three times before finding bad injector each repair required the engine to be removed from chassis (trans was left in chassis). After 3 months in the shop we finally got RV back about a month ago we have driven 7k since. I noticed the trans was not shifting properly after last repair but we are in far NW Oregon for the next couple of months now in an isolated spot with no repair facility within 300 miles so if possible I would like to troubleshoot problem and fix if it is something simple. Trans is a Model 3060P Serial 6510462930. Problem is it shifts too quickly from a dead start. By this I mean we can take off from a stop and accelerate say 3/4 (or more) throttle the trans will shift 1 through 4 alomst immediately then to 5th and 6th very quickly this quick shifting is causing the engine to lug because the trans is in to high of a gear to fast. When at road speeds and climbing a hill the trans may or may not downshift (even if it needs to) I do not run in Economy Mode and before engine repairs the trans downshifted like it sohould. I have checked every connection I can find at the trans and engine and don't find anything bad. Fluid level is fine and there are no error codes using the shifter push buttons. Has anyone got any thoughts?

Claude, welcome to the forum. Lots of helpful folks here.

I had similar problems on my prior coach. Took it to FL and they diagnosed a bad ECM (engine control module), fixed under warranty.

Call your chassis manufacturer first (I assume it's FreightLiner), and if they can't help you, call Allison. I'm pretty sure the tranny is controlled by the engine ECM.

Good Luck!
