Temperature Sender

My Trans Temperature gauge is not working on my 2003 HR with the 3000 transmission. First thing I want to check is to make sure the sender plug is clean and plugged in. Can you point me to the location of the sender? thx

The trans temp sensor is internal in the transmission, wiring is through the main multi wire connection. Unlike the speed sensors that are external, with their separate connectors.

Have you checked for fault codes using the key pad ?
If the trans controller was not getting readings from the trans temp sensor the " check trans light" should be on; so I'm thinking bad dash gauge, or poor connection there.

I'm guessing you are referring to the fluid temp gauge on the dash. The temp sender is in the fluid output lone to the fluid cooler. It's low at the bottom of the transmission. It's very easy for the wiring connector to pull off. Look for a single hanging wire.

Here's what it looks like.

It will in the hose that heads off to the transmission fluid cooler and near the transmission as Steve said.

FWIW
