Trans specs/ towing capacity

I'm looking at a 2001 Fleetwood Expedition 34n DP.. I know it has a the 260hp cummins ISB.. however I'm not sure what exact trans it has.. Freightliner told me it has an Alison2000.. however I would think the Motorhome would be by far overweight of that trans.. Can anybody on here confirm it does indeed have that transmission and if so could I safety tow 4500K trailer..? And what are the max hp/torque ratings for that Transmission ?

I'm sure Freightliner would know what transmission they installed in the RV chassis. Did you supply them with the VIN or just asked about the chassis in that model of RV? The Allison 2000 is a common transmission in many RVs.

The serial number of the transmission is on a plate on the driver's side (transmission is backwardly mounted in a DP) on the side of the case above the fluid pan.

Besides worrying about the transmission capacity, make sure you have the towing capacity reserve in the RV and receiver hitch.

Allison makes several trans. in the 2000 series most popular for RV's are the 2100 and 2500 but there is also a 2150 and a 2550. There is a serial number tag on the transmission and you could take that number to Allison and they will identify that transmission for you.
