Gents,
Well, after much research, lots of questions, lots of answers from helpful folks here on this site, it's Change to Transynd time! Man, that stuff is GOLD! They want some serious pricing for it. I was watching some on ebay, the one and only place that had it there, for $169.00 for five gallons. I was just about to commit, when last night, it jumped to $195.00 for the same stuff, from the same vendor. Hmmmmmm.

As stated in one of my posts on the benefits and use of it, that a price of $50.00 per gallon, out the door, was from our local Freightliner Service Center. So far, based on some I-net searching, the lowest I've seen it is about the same, around $42.00 a gallon.

Well, anyone have a line on this stuff? Anywhere? If I have to pay that much, well, I suppose it's not the end of the world, just the pocket book.
Scott

Transynd is manufactured by Castrol. I thought about calling our nearest Castrol distributor and asking them.

Where I live it is hard to find. Couldn't find Delvac anywhere. Got Transynd from my local Freightliner dealer for 36.85/gal.

We've been buyin Transynd at our local Allison dealer, San Antonio Stewart Stevenson, the past 2 yrs for $31.5/gal or $150 for 5 gal pal.
4" sump Filter kit for 3000-4000 series is $54
We hope this helps

You actually have several choices for trans fluid that's approved by Allison.

Check this info!

Mobil Delvac Synthetic ATF fluid is what was being used when I was at the Freightliner service center in Gaffney. It can be mixed with Transynd. If you are a little short just put Delvac back in.

Happy trails.

I did, it's specific to Allison and the distributor said he couldn't get it.

So you have 1 gal for topping off if needed. No problem.
