Brother-in -law had 2005 Tiffin on the 22 chassis no issues.
Service the trans if you have no records of it being done, stay within the GCVW weight limit and drive to your heart's content.

Very few complaints on here about that transmission. I have it in mine and change the fluid and spin on filter myself every 25,000 miles.

It's very easy to drain it yourself. Uses about 11 quarts and you do it twice. I use Dexron iii which I buy at Costco.

Someday I will switch to Transynd when I find a place near me that sells it.

I have an'04 Kountry Star. I have had my pain with Bosch brakes, I keep waiting for the instrument panel to quit, my has blinked a few times, but keeps working. I had rain ingestion problems which cheap rubber gasket along the hood opening gap solved. My rig has not had the over heat some have. Overall, I am very happy, I like gas vs. diesel, my MPG towing is 8.5 and the Allison tranny has been rock solid. From what I read, the Workhorse has been more reliable than the other gas engines.

2003 and 2006 Tiffin Allegro Open Roads on Workhorse Chassis. No problems aside from the brake recall on the 2006.

Called a Workhorse service center today. They are saying $250-$300 for oil change and filter on the transmission! They said the synthetic oil is what dictates the price!

Not a bad price if they switch it to synthetic.

I figure around 22 quarts for Transynd at about $10 a quart and about $10 for the spin on filter.

About $245 with tax for parts. So that's not too bad of a price.

I have read that you should NOT do a power flush with the Allison 1000. I drain mine and fill, drive about 5 miles, drain and fill again.

We have the Allison 5 speed on our 2005 Adventurer 33V, and have had no problems with it. It's a very strong transmission. The change over to Transynd is a good idea (your coach has the old Trans fluid with 25k mile change schedule, Transynd change schedule is every 100k miles or 4 years).

Climbing GA & AL mountains in the summertime... I can tell you its worth it.
Highest temp I saw for the trans fluid was 175. Drive all day with a trailer on the highway and the temp will barely get over 150 degrees.
Transynd is the stuff... and the allison is o-sum.
