2009 Chevy Silverado Duramax - Engine Reduction Mode

Anyone else have the same setup getting the same error?

Ours keeps coming back as fuel related, we've had a ton of work done to try to correct the issue.

I'd like to hear from other Duramax owners out there.

You might get more response if you post your question on the Duramax Forum at Chevy and GMC Duramax Diesel Forum

How long since your last fuel filter change? 15,000 miles is the max.for a filter. I have seen rubber fuel lines that collapse inside when the engine is running at speed, yet the outside appears new. In the 90's Dodge diesels had a problem with that.

Knock on wood, I've never had that type of error error message appear on my '09. I know the Duramax LMM engine will go into reduction mode if the DPF becomes too clogged. However, this generally happens as a result of ignoring the warning message (and alarm) to run the truck for about a half-hour at 30+ mph to allow the engine to burn it off.

Personally, I agree with the previous poster. You might do better to post your problem on a Duramax diesel forum.

I haven't had that error code but I've had a current issue with the oil level % dropping quickly in the computer. They said its from too many short trips but that will be fixed soon since I have a road trip to North Carolina coming up so that should open it up.
