Banks Economind with Switch

just received my my Economind Tuner (dashboard switch model) from Banks and am about to install it. my truck is a 2006 2500HD with the 6.6l Duramax. My tow behind is a Keystone Bullet 246RBS. I have previously installed the Banks RamAir airbox, and Monster Exhaust. The actual installation seems straightforward and is mostly plug & play. While the installation manual is very good, there is no information given on the six switch settings (1 to 6) and which to use under certain circumstances. It is obvious that setting 1 is the minimum, and used for daily driving, but how is one to know when to change to a higher setting while towing? Also when towing should the Chevy Tow-Haul mode be used or not?

OK. So I installed the Banks Economind into my Chev 2500HD, 6.6L Duramax. Bank's installation manual proved to be very good...-...until the section detailing the cutting of the rubber grommet to allow the cable from the engine bay Economind box to go thru the firewall to the cab. No mention that the grommet was double wall and a longer knife blade than a box cutter is required. I used a 6" fish filet knife. Other than that, the install went very well...-... until I was ready to start the truck and teach the Economind about the Allison transmission characteristics. The manual said that I should see a Green Indicator on the Economind module showing all was OK. No indicator was easily visable. I continued with the teaching procedure starting at #2 on the dial and then went to #3. With no indicator, I wasn't sure if there was power to the box. I called Banks Tech Support and we found that the green LED's light pipe was not aligned with the lens on the outside of the box. It faintly showed green glow. Ben, the Tech at Banks was very helpful and I'm now happy that the Economind is working as it should.
