Nothing to weep about. I was merely responding to TXiceman's post clarifying which truck won the award in which year. I'm quite happy with my truck and hope that the Chevy/GM owners are as well.

New Cars, Car Reviews & Prices, Used Cars for Sale, & Auto Shows at Motor Trend Magazine is an automotive magazine and website. It, IMO, is heavily supported by the automotive industry. I'd really-really like to buy a new dually, but can't seem to part with 56 thousand dollars in this economic climate.

I had been drooling over the 2011 Silverado until I read about the additive that has to be put into a seperate tank about every 3,000 miles. I think that will add about $.30 per gal. to the cost and thats not something I'm willing to do. Guess I'll keep the ol' '07.

I just bought a 2011 3500 Dually 4x4. And as if that wasn't long/big enough - it's a crew cab. I traded in my '08 HD because I just bought a 40' toyhauler & I needed the new truck's towing capacity to do it safely. So far (700 miles later), I love this truck & I'm really glad I bought it.

The DEF fluid is a pain, and from what I understand all the new diesels in CA will require them. Do I have that right, or is is all across the Country? Anyhow, I bought a 5 gal. jug of that stuff from the dealership & it cost me almost $24. That's a lot of dough for something that's only going to last me 3k miles or so. We'll see how much of a pain this becomes.

Thanks Al Gore & Leo DiCaprio...thanks a lot. They can keep thier "carbon footprint". I'd like my $24 back.

No, the Cummins 6.7L does not use DEF (urea) in Dodge Ram pickup applications.

The 6.7L Cummins in the Dodge Ram cab and chassis applications uses a different emissions technology (DEF instead of a NOx adsorber as used on the pickups) and does require DEF - this is because of a different anticipated duty cycle with the cab and chassis trucks that will experience extended idling in wrecker, ambulance, bucket truck, etc. applications.

Check around for DEF pricing, this past week a local tractor supply store sold a 5G jug for $13.95.

DEF = Diesel Exhaust Fluid (actually an aqueous urea solution)
