I look at Jay Leno Garage from time to time on the internet. It showed Gale Banks has a S10 truck with a Durmax 6.6 with stock heads and crank turning 180 mph with a 7.77 ET in the quarter. The truck only holds a gallon of fuel and makes several run off the gallon of fuel. No black smoke out of the exhaust. The engine does have twin turbos and nitrous making it go fast. I wonder what it would do with a fiver hooked to it.

And, Cummins B5.9 holds the world land speed record for pickups! Now we know where the other diesel powered pickup stands.

Ray, I read also about the Dodge breaking the land speed record with the Cummins Dodge. I don't remember how fast it went, but it also was a Gale Banks modified diesel. It seems they towed a trailer with speed equipment with the truck they ran. After the run put the speed equipment back in the trailer and drove the truck back home. It is amazing what Gale Banks can do with a diesel, but his stuff is very expensive. I just leave mine stock.

Here is an link to the Gale Banks Dodge Dakota/Cummins-powered truck: http://www.allbusiness.com/automotiv...6289317-1.html
213.58 MPH for a road-worthy diesel truck is a feat. Wonder if Gale will attempt it with a Duramax in the future?
Yes, his stuff is expensive, however, I have never read or heard any negative comments concerning quality or performance.
