Looking for a real estimate for fuel usage in the maritime provinces. What I mean is this; planning to go on a 4 week trip out east this summer. Tring to estimate fuel requirements for the trip. Just a rough but semi accurate estimate.

We are leaving Detroit/Windsor and driving the Canadian way thru Montreal, up over the loop and hitting Fredericton NB, then Cavendish PEI, then Sydney NS, then Halifax NS, then Digby NS, then St John NB, then going home thru States to Boston Mass, then Niagara Falls NY, thru Canada to Windsor.

We are using out 2016 2500 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab Diesel, and pulling a 2014 Keystone Laredo 35' 330BH. Max weight on Trailer is 10000 lbs. I'm assuming my wife will load the trailer and truck up like we are going forever so max weight to be considered.

Last year when driving with you 1500 Silverado for three week, but in flat country we averaged 11.5 MPG. Only when from Windsor to Tobemory, then Kingston, to Oakville, to Niagara Falls and home to Windsor. But flat lands.

Trying to get a rough estimate what mileage would be in hill/mountain country of the Maritimes.

All answers would be great.

For every hill you climb, you'll be able to coast down the other side. Your fuel consumption might go up a bit, but you're not really climbing through mountain passes like on a trip through Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, etc.

I have the same year truck in 4X4 and have traveled from California to North Carolina and back through Texas,New Mexico back to California. My mileage was a normally at 10 to 11 mpg cruise set at 63. My tt is a 36' Keystone Cougar wet 9,500#. Hope this helps.

It sounds like you are using a sharp pencil for this estimate.

How do you take veriation in fuel cost from station to station, wind and currency exchange rate into account?

Thanks that was what I was looking for. Just trying to rough estimate fuel usage for the budget.

I agree with fuel cost variable, but that I can account for but using a higher estimate.
