I got this PowerMax chip off of EBay for around $28 with shipping. It suppose to give 35HP more and increase in fuel mileage. The problem is I cannot figure out how to hook it up. It connects to the MAP Sensor on the air intake. They give a website for general instructions but not for the model of truck that I have. The website is Performance Installation Manual

I think it the gray wire and the black with a gray stripe, just not sure. I care less about the 35 HP but would love a couple more miles per gallon. I got a email through EBAY and they will give me instrution for my model truck. What i don't understand is why did they just put the intrucions for my model in the box ??? Has anyone got one of these ?

Where did you hear about this module? I'm not familiar with this one and I don't know of any diesel programmers that install in that location. My guess is that it's probably made for a gasoline engine and probably won't deliver on it's promise for more horsepower or fuel economy. I did use a search engine to find out more about 'Power Max' but nothing vehicle related came up and I take that as a bad sign.

This is an edit to the orginal post. I looked at the photos in the link you posted and the name 'Punisher Module' is visible. I found this site:

http://autochipsdirect.com/

There is no mention of use with a diesel and I'd consider this product just another one of a long line of products that make claims that will never be realized by the user.

PLEASE if you like your truck, DO NOT install this.....

There is a reason all the tuners, modules and "chips" out there for diesels are in the hundreds $ range and that is only $28....

I have looked at this company feed back. It seems most people are happy with it. He does have some complaints for slow shipping and slow response to a questions. I asked a question yesterday and so far no response. Looking at the feedback as far as if does any good most say it does. The replies were from gas and diesel owners. They will pay for the shipping returns within 30 days.

My recommendation is to head over and ask your question to the Duramax nuts at Diesel Place - Duramax Diesel Discussion Forums

I'm pretty sure you will get all the information you need to make an informed decision before you decide to install this product.

I have wrote Ebay a request to get my money back after I return the chip. The instructions did not tell me how to install and I wrote the seller requesting information on how to install. After a couple days he wrote me back requesting the engine size that I had. I them wrote him telling him that a Druamax only came as a 6.6 liter and what have you sold me. I got not reply for the seller in two days, so I wrote ebay requesting a refund. The return shipping suppose to be free. The problem is I am now in Florida away from my home. I will have to use a friend's adress to get it returned. This will be the second time I had a problem with a purchase on Ebay. The first one did not go well for me and probably this one won't either.

The ACD device is not a "programmer" at all - it simply biases some sensor reading to fool the ECM into making some different decisions. That can work, for certain things, but a module calibrated for a gas engine ECM is not going to help a diesel ECM and may in fact cause it to make bad decisions. I see nothing on the ACD Performance site that suggests this product is for a Duramax diesel, or even mentioning that is works with diesel as well as gas. They do, however, specify a ACD model number for a 2006 Chevy 2500 or 2500HD, but nothing that says for diesel versions of those.

I wouldn't blame the problem on ebay. Like a garage sale, you have to know what you are buying when you deal there. If you need product support and advice, you should do business with a full service store/shop, e.g. Brazell's. That way you can get technical advice and can be confident of getting a product that at least is designed for your vehicle.

I'm not associated with Brazell's RV Perfromance - just offering general advice on purchasing this sort of product.

I did find the website: http://powermaxperformance.com/ and it does say they have chips for a Duramax. You actually do get what you pay for in this instance. If you damage your Duramax it will sure cost more than a few hundred dollars to repair. A new crate engine runs about $11,000. Unless you purchased from that company directly you don't know what you have.

I returned the chip almost two weeks ago. I never tried it as I never got instructions on how to put it on. This company has a lot of people telling how good it is and some that went through the same as I. I had to call EBay and find out what going on with the refund and got a reply today that I would be getting a refund.

I would agree dont use these ebay devices. Give us a call we use ntohgih but the best in EFI Live and Auto cal is the right way to go when tuning duramax diesel engines. We have tuned many Duramax engines trucks and Rv. Talk to Randy here at the shop he is first class hands on with these engines. He has even schooled me on a few things

The company that sold me the chip said I be getting a refund, but I yet to get it. I think I am going to be out of my money. I wrote another email to Ebay but no response. The item was not as pictured and never could get instructions. I am going to wait a few more days. I probably lost the money, but I not left feedback yet. This may be the second time I been stuck on a Ebay purchase and this will be the last time.
