Remote start gmc Duramax

Try use remote start and does not start go to use key and will not start. Put jump battery on and will start. Work normal til try remote start,then repeat of above. Anyone had this probLem?

Have you used a meter to get a reading on the battery health? Remove and clean battery cables? Those would be starting points. Remote could have it's own bad battery, code mix up, etc., but the key should start it. The fact that a jumper battery got a reaction sounds like bad connections or battery.

It takes both batteries .we got home from a cruise and when I jumped in to go to work,no start.One battery was really bad so just put both of them on .That's was on my 2003 model,on my 12 I will call a dealer & let them change them.

Sounds like a computer problem to me. Are you remembering to press the lock button before pressing the start button?

Also if you have a check engine light the remote start will not operate either.
I was getting a code for EGR valve last week & found remote wont work,new EGR & harness and still under warranty thank goodness.
