I am getting a squeak when turning right or left. Not lock to lock just a normal turn. The truck get grease job every 5K miles. I do not think it in the ball joints or steering. Maybe a wheel bearing or CV joint ? Anyone had this ? The truck has 75,000 miles.

The GM 4X4 trucks have 11 grease fittings, how many are actually greased? Some are quite difficult to see. I have pictures, but will have to email them. I don't know how to post them here. PM me with a private email address and I will send pictures (5, I think) of the fittings. Another irv2 member gave them to me at the 09 rally.

Ray, I was the IRV2 member that gave you the pictures at the National in Ohio. The last two grease jobs from Walmart they show they did ten fittings, probably missing the one under the skid plate, that one hard to get to. I took the truck in Monday as I got no idea and I hope I get it back today. The guy working on it thinks with the miles, it may be a wheel bearing or CV Joint. The squeal while turning has almost quit, but now getting a noise like a flat spotted tire while running down the road. It just started this noise.

I just made a call to where my truck is being repaired. It was a bad wheel bearing. I am happy that is all. We just got back from Myrtle Beach and driving the truck to the race at Darlington, SC.

Sorry I forgot you gave me the pictures Tom. I obviously still have, and refer to, them. When I have my truck serviced, I still tell the service writer the technician/mechanic must list how may zerk fittings he greased. I'm glad you discovered the origin of the squeak before it became a bigger problem.
