2007 silverado 2500hd 116,000 miles. Previous owner used Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel 5w20
I continue to use it and change every 10,000 miles or earlier. Get 16.9 mpg no load.

When I bought my 2004 in 2007, (50,000 mi) previous owner had been using Shell Rotella 15w40 I continued that till had injectors redone at 120,000 miles 2 yrs ago (LB7) Chevy dealership put in Delvac 15w40 been running that since, doesn't use oil between changes, getting 18-19 mpg empty, 10-12 pulling 5th wheel. Baldwin filter.

Amsoil

Was using dealer oil during comp. oil changes. Now I will switch to Amsoil. More expensive but I think well worth it. I will also be sending an oil sample for testing every change.
