Our 03' 7.3L has been good to us as far as the motor itself goes.
We bought it 3 1/2 years ago with 86,000 miles on it and and at
100,000 almost exactly the tranny gave out! Got it replaced with a
Jasper transmission and all is well.
It is now at 109,000 miles.
We have not had the CPS go out yet, but there is a spare in the
glove box in case it does!

Jo

In March, 09, I replaced the CAM Sensor on my 03 350CrewCab, as the truck was lurching/stalling.
Told me my #8 Cyl injector was not working - needed to be replaced, along with ICP sensor....est. cost 1320.00...but I haven't done it yet because of money situation...and it has been running smoothly altho very sluggish accelleration at first...
Then I had to move....a few weeks ago from an RV park and my poor pickup couldn't even get the revs up past 1800 trying to pull the 34' RV out of its spot.
Ended up I paid $80 so I could get it up to a new Park....and it's back to just driving the truck once again with the slow pick up...but it runs smoothly and eventually revs up and acts like its old self. Got 80K miles on it.
Will I do any additional damage driving occasionally around, but not pulling anything...???
Wish I could find someone who could do the job "reasonably"....

2000 F250 7.3 SRW, crew cab short bed. 2x4

Owned it since 70,000 miles. Ran it stock pulling a 10k open deck car hauler for my business 10-20 times a year. Turned 160,000 I added performance. Edge II w/ Juice, MBRP 4" exhaust, AFE intake with stage 7 filter. 41 gal long range replacement fuel tank. (up from 29 gal)

Still on original transmission, planning on replacing it with a Brian's Truck Stop (BTS) custom. Just have to plan ahead on this since he is booked 6 mths out. Have a hard time replacing it with no sign of issues.

168,000 and running strong

Work:
CPS - warranty
Injector - warranty
Rotors once
Brake pads 2x
2 sets of batteries
3rd set of tires
all four door locks
cup holder (ya sucker broke!)

***I think my turbo pedestal is going so an ATS replacement turbo will be going in next.

Will keep this alive as long as it will stay on the road.

Mark

Mine now has 94,000 miles and last weekend I replaced the front pads, repacked the wheel bearings and cut the rotors just a touch. Looks like the tranny will need new front and rear main seals.
