Picked up my truck this afternoon and took it on a 70 mile jaunt. Without checking computer stats the things I noticed were quicker acceleration/response and a little over 4 more mpg traveling at 65 mph than before. I also noticed that the transmission didn't downshift on a large hill it usually does and the RPM stayed relatively constant. My DW said it seemed to be quieter too but I don't know.

He wants me to drive it aggressively for a week and bring it back so he can run the computer on it again. In November he wants me to do a complete coolant flush and replace to remove any particles that still might be in there.

So far I am happy with the 3K I spent and will keep you all appraised if anything important comes up.

My truck is now in the rebuild stage. I found a friend of a friend who is retired who agreed to take on the job. Just under 6k to have everything done-studs,machined heads, new oil cooler, BP EGR, and all Ford updates, turbo maintenance as well.
A side note when he pulled the cooler it was bad and had just started allowing coolant to seap into oil. I had no signs it was bad beforehand. I bigger issue one of the OME stud was cracked all the way through but crazy thing is I had no leaking gasket. Mechanic said it was something he'd never seen..he had seen snapped OME studs but he'd never caught one before the engine went
I'll up date again after I get it back

Truck is back and there is a noticeable improvement in how it runs. Truck is quieter and runs like a brand new vehicle. Temps run dead even and are about 10 degrees lower overall. I will still be vigilant with monitoring things just out of habit but it's a good feeling to know it's solid now.

Been driving it daily since work completed and can report I am beyond impressed. Temps are great, lower then before, and it just feels stronger. Mechanic said it is fine to run a tune or two for towing or to improve daily driving. He said to continue my maintenance schedule I'd been religious about and sees no reason I shouldn't get 100k mile or more out of it. I could never afford a new truck and I really liked mine to begin with so it was well worth it. Now time to get another trailer!!

Great! Glad to hear you're happy.

I have been using this with a cheap 7" tablet for several weeks now to monitor my vehicle and I love it.

Good luck and happy camping.
