cat and dpf delete

I also have an 09 F-250. I did this modification you are talking about. I did the cat and dpf delete with an H and S programmer. I get between 14.5 and 15 mpg in town and about 17.5 to 18 on the highway. It is fairly easy to do laying in the driveway using simple hand tools. I would recommend having someone help you get the old pipe down as it it pretty heavy. Overall I really like the power that the mod gave the truck. I was just looking for longevity on the motor and better mpg's. Don't believe all the hype about people getting 20-25 mpg. I have done a LOT of reading on powerstroke.org and I don't think anyone gets that type of mileage realistically.

I got the H and S mini maxx, the cat and dpf delete and an S and B cold air intake from Rudy's diesel performance for like 1200 bucks. They were great to deal with and Ben will answer any and every question you have. 1-866-757-6537 is their number.

Thanks. Did you consider the larger Black Maxx? Seems like the screen on the Mini might be a little small?

No I don't really need it. Once you select your power level you don't have to touch it. I just monitor the parameters and they are easy enough to see. Seriously, I was worried about it being too small before I got it, but after talking to Ben at rudy's, he was convinced the mini maxx was what I was looking for. He was right. I also did a lot of reading at powerstroke.org before I made my decision. With the mini, it will blow your mind the amount of power that your truck will have. If you have never been in one with a tuner, you just don't really understand.

Only when you get down on it. Just driving around I don't notice it.

Yogi (Wayne)

I have been wondering the same thing. I was tempted to negotiate for a 2012 F-450 KR a local dealer had on his lot. It was a 2012 version of my 2008 F-450 KR. When i got home i started thinking about it and I have 2.5 years left on my ESP Premiere Plan. When I tow I get about 9 MPG and my current ride is paid for. So I am in no hurry to get into payments again. And as someone else mentioned, the interest on a loan far outweighs my fuel costs.

What I had heard about the new DPF cleaning is that you need to fill that 2nd tank every 7500 miles. I don't know if anyone other that Ford sells that fluid. If not, they can charge what they want. I read it was pretty pricey though.

My decision is keep what I got until I have to get another one.

You can buy DEF just about anywhere nowadays. And it doesn't have to be refilled more often than a 5k+ oil change interval.
