Anyone with a Coronado Chassis do a headlight upgrade?

Anyone with a Freightliner Coronado Chassis done a headlight upgrade? I'd like to remove the 7" light housings that use twist in halogens and upgrade to the JW Speaker 7" 8700 Evolution 2 LEDs.

I've been circling this project for about a year and haven't gotten up the nerve to disassemble the headlight housings yet. However, my overnight trip back from Cape Cod in the rain yesterday renewed my interest in this project. A little guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I too find the headlights on my Valencia to be inadequate. Have you attempted the upgrade?

Alternatively, I've found this website:

Freightliner M2 Bi-Xenon Projector Headlight Upgrade - Deep Space Lighting

That offers headlight exchange. Pricey but may be worth it for increased safety?

I have done the Deep Space Lighting upgrade on my M2. I sent my housing in to have them retro fitted and have been very happy with the increased visibility.

No luck yet. David at Deep Space Lighting does some nice work. I have a set of his fog lamps. Unfortunately, I don't believe he has enough customer interest to develop a lighting solution for the Coronado.

Awesome to find someone who’s had personal experience with them. Thank you for the valuable feedback!

I have a 2018 Valencia on the S2RV chassis - anybody know if the headlights are identical?

David would have been my recommendation Petrel but it sounds like you have already been in contact with him.

BerryS, I would reach out to David at Deep Space Lighting directly. He is very active in the HDT community and will be able to answer your question(s).

I agree with Petrel, David does fantastic work and follows it up with excellent communication/customer service.

Don't waste time changing the bulbs, reflectors are crap

I installed Baja Designs fog lights, they are like having 10 extra sets of headlights, I also added a 20" light bar from them, connected with a relay to the high beam wire, insanely bright. The factory headlights are no better than my sure fire flashlight. even with Hella 65/100 bulbs on my International 4300.

Thanks for your input. I may take a look at the Hellas for now.

Strongweld,

Any chance you could post a picture of lighter and lamps installed on your rig?
