I've searched "find" and the bus conversion sites I have, no luck. In the back of my brain there is a memory of seeing somewhere mention of dual range differentials in some buses. Anyone know?

There were (are?) school buses that have had two speed rear ends in them. I've been in some older ones but haven't seen them in any newer ones. That's not to say there aren't any.

They are out there, were pretty common on GMC chassis, I have seen them on late 80's stuff, maybe into the early 90's. I wouldn't call them great technology, they had a tendency to be quite troublesome, even when driven correctly. It was hard to find a driver that didn't beat them, and when you did, the motor would hang up, or something else would fail.

Why arre you asking?
